Recreational fishing

Recreational fishing

Recreational and sport fishing describe fishing primarily for pleasure or competition. Recreational fishing has conventions, rules, licensing restrictions and laws that limit the way in which fish may be caught; typically, these prohibit the use of nets and the catching of fish with hooks not in the mouth. The most common form of recreational fishing is done with a rod, reel, line, hooks and any one of a wide range of baits or lures such as artificial flies. The practice of catching or attempting to catch fish with a hook is generally known as angling. In angling, it is sometimes expected or required that fish be returned to the water (catch and release). Recreational or sport fishermen may log their catches or participate in fishing competitions.

Big-game fishing describes fishing from boats to catch large open-water species such as tuna, sharks and marlin. Sport fishing (sometimes game fishing) describes recreational fishing where the primary reward is the challenge of finding and catching the fish rather than the culinary or financial value of the fish's flesh. Fish sought after include marlin, tuna, tarpon, sailfish, shark and mackerel although the list is endless.
Bali has many spot to do recreational fishing.

Basic Fishing Tips For Lake Fishing

For most anglers, the purpose of going fishing is to catch fish. If you have ever spent the day fishing in a lake without catching any fish, then you know just how frustrating it is to go home empty handed after hours of fishing. Fortunately, there are some things an angler can do to increase their chances of catching more fish. This article will discuss several tips to help make your next fishing trip more successful.

First, and most important, make sure the lake you plan to fish has been stocked with fish. Fishing a lake that you are not sure has any fish in it will only be a waste of time. Knowing the type of fish the lake is stocked with will help you decide what type of bait to use.

Fish are unpredictable. It is impossible to know when or what fish will be feeding on at any given time. So, switching between live bait and various artificial baits will only increase your chances of attracting some type of fish. Try varying between top water baits, spinner baits, plastic worms or live baits like minnows or worms until something works.

When you get to the lake you will be fishing, take a good look at around and locate any lily pads, logs, or large rocks where fish may be hiding, since these will be prime areas to target. Don't stay in the same place too long. Cast your bait near lily pads, logs and rocks where fish are likely to be hiding. If you don't catch anything or get any bites after a few casts, then move on to the next spot. The more ground you cover the better your chances of finding and catching fish.

Going fishing and having nothing to show for it is just no fun. The next time you set out to go fishing, follow these simple tips and make your next fishing trip more successful. Just remember to bring something to put the fish in.

Amed Bali more than just fishing

Amed Bali more than just fishing

Amed is located in East Bali Karangasem. To get there you need to use the main road from Amlapura and Culik. Amed Bali is mostly a quiet place with a stunning ocean view, Gunung Agung view from Amed Since this area is one of the best places in Bali to go to for scuba diving, snorkling and fishing, travelers mainly come here to marvel at the diverse sea life.

Besides diving and snorkeling the main activity is just relaxing far away from the crowds in the south... the Amed area offers stunning ocean vistas. Headland after headland offers amazing ocean landscapes. Everywhere you go you will see crystal clear water which we can't get enough of...The landscape is very arid and the slopes of the mountain all look bare.

Rice fields are out of the question and the only food that is grown in the wet season are peanuts, soya beans and corn. Other sources income are salt winning and fishing which is done all year round. Especially around the villages Amed and Congkang you can see the salt winning activities while the other beaches are mostly covered with colorful Jukungs which are traditional fishing boats. I guess besides the fact that it is right at the sea and its refreshing breeze, quiet Amed ocean view Amed is a really easy going place where you could be the only one staying in one of the hotels or restaurants.

And the locals in Amed seem to mind their own business. Despite the fact that they are friendly and helpful, the Balinese in this part of the island don't seem to be behind you every time you turn around. While we are usually up and about during our trips through Bali, Amed made us just want to slow down a bit and enjoy the breathtaking setting.

So if you want to leave the crowd behind without anybody wanting something from you then this is definitely the place to go, this part of Bali is one of the quietest and let's hope it remains that way. Its beaches are rocky and or have black sand and there are no waves so it is not popular among sunbathers and surfers.

The majority of the travelers who do head to Amed are divers. This area has one of the best diving sites in Bali. Not only do divers like to discover the marine life in this area, but they also take the boat up to Tulamben where you can find other popular diving sites.
If you do want to see more of eastern Bali there are many tours organized in Amed. They mainly show the highlights of this part of the island, such as climbing Agung mountain , visiting the water palace at Tirta Gangga and hiking or cycling through the country side.
